Vegetables grown in the temple kitchen garden and offerings to the ancestors for 

the Full Moon Festival

Sambulsa in Minnesota, US (Abbot: Ven. Deokkyung) officiated 

ancestral rites for the Full Moon Festival or Chuseok. The 

ancestors were honored with the offering of 什esh vegetables 

such as tomatoes, watermelons, and Korean melons that were 

grown in the temple's kitchen garden. Watching pumpkins 

and other vegetables thrive in the garden warms our hearts, 

reminding us of our hometowns back in Korea
